Homewood Suites hotel coming to Deerfield Township

A new 115-room Homewood Suites hotel is under construction in Deerfield Township.

HiFive Development Services is building the $10.7 million, four-story hotel. Located on 2.8 acres at the corner of Natorp and Wilkens boulevards, the 91,375-square-foot hotel is expected to be complete in spring 2014, said Tom Lempner, marketing director for HiFive.

Homewood Suites is an extended stay brand of hotel from Hilton Hotels & Resorts. Its suites come with fully equipped kitchens and full-sized refrigerators. Rooms include one-bedroom, two-bedroom and studio options. The hotels also offer free hot breakfast daily and dinner and drinks almost every weeknight.

The property is owned by Deerfield Hospitality LLC, which paid $900,000 for the site at the end of last year.

The same Indianapolis-based development company that wants to convert the 580 Building into downtown residences also plans to build a luxury apartment complex near the new hotel. Anderson Birkla Investment Partners LLC plans to build 227 apartments on 12 acres as part of a mixed-use neighborhood called Latitude at Deerfield Crossing. A Duke Realty office building occupies adjacent property to the east.
